Reducing Swelling During Pregnancy
Many of my clients reach out during their second and third trimester with complaints of body swelling.
The changes in your blood chemistry can cause fluid to shift into your tissues and the weight of your expanding uterus puts pressure on your veins and vena cava (the large vein on the right side of your body that carries blood from yours legs and feet back up to your heart). Blood can begin to pool causing fluid retention in legs, ankles, and feet. Other causes of pregnancy swelling include diet, lack of exercise, and dehydration.
